About Ziggy (Adopted by foster carer)
Ziggy is a 12 month old male brindle Staffy cross. He's a snuggler! He will sit next to you or climb onto your lap at every opportunity, to have a cuddle and get a rub on his belly. He is also energetic and ready to play with anyone or any dog any time. He loves people and adores all children. ~~ Watch videos of Ziggy playing nicely with larger and smaller dogs http://youtu.be/WGB-AT269Io and http://youtu.be/zFxOXlX1ty0 and http://youtu.be/EtAsNmYI7dk
He is learning to play fetch but needs a little more practice bringing the ball back. Ziggy needs plenty of exercise such as a daily walk and a trip to the beach on the weekend and challenging toys to exercise his mind. He loves to play tug of war with people or other dogs. He craves companionship and would be well suited to a family that already has a dog, or an energetic owner that loves to involve their fit four legged friend in their active lifestyle, play ball, go for car rides, run and explore because he doesn't like being at home alone all the time. In typical staffy behaviour he will jump up when you arrive home to show he loves you but is learning that he gets more affection if he sits.
Ziggy is not a barker as he has access to indoors and needs to be allowed to spend time inside with his family. He prefers to sleep indoors. We think he would be better off with children aged 6 and above as he doesn’t know his own strength when he leans on you for a cuddle or runs past. He will need an experienced dog owner for this reason.
He LOVES going for walks and needs a fair bit of training on the lead as he can be quite strong at times. Likewise, when I let him off the leash - At first with excitement he is so busy investigating all the new smells or saying hello to other dogs, but he eventually returns when called. You will need at least 5-6 foot fences to keep Ziggy safe.
Ziggy has already learned to sit for all meals. He is continuing his training in sitting, staying and other commands. He politely sits at the back door and waits to be invited into the house after his meals as he does like to explore what other dogs are eating and best to be fed separately unless supervised so as not to upset the balance.
He is an exceptionally big softie and will make a fabulous pet for any family who are looking to add that missing canine member.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
