About Gabriel
Gabriel came from Campbelltown Pound as a surrender named Stormie but, as his life was about to change dramatically, so did his name. This angel came to PAWS weighing just 6.3kg so how does a dog who should weigh 10kg-13kg get into this state? Absolute cruelty and neglect as far as the vet and we at PAWS are concerned. Of course the previous owners will not be charged, they just sign a piece of paper surrendering their faithful companion of 10 years and walk away with no repercussions. They are not answerable to anyone and don?t have to pay a cent to surrender their dog. If they took him to a vet clinic they would have had to pay euthanasia costs so much better to take him to the Pound where there is either a token fee or no fee at all. Despite having been starved and the pain he is suffering (a severe ear infection so bad that his ear canals are almost closed over, infected eyes and a yeast infection over most of his body) Gabriel still wags his stumpy little tail. It goes a million miles an hour like a helicopter and he is thankful for everything that is done for him and for the food that he now has to eat. Gabriel is on quite a regime of drugs which include ear and eye drops, twice weekly medicated shampoo baths, antibiotics for his skin infection, antihistamine for his itch and supplements to help his skin recover as quickly as possible. We also have Gabriel on premium quality food that he has in small amounts four times a day and, as he has been starved, his food goes down super-fast! Gabriel is a lovely boy and deserves to find a home where he will be treated with the respect, love and care that he deserves.
