About Indy (On Trial 19/1/14)
Indy is a 2 year old, female, blue cattle x collie. She is a gentle girl who has lots of energy and would love to have a mate who can run and play. Indy’s long legs and athletic body is only one indication how much she enjoys exercise like running, jumping, chasing a ball and the beach. She is also the perfect inside companion, happily curling up at your feet or on the lounge with her family. Indy is learning to love the water, although still a bit cautious about swimming and waves. A bit of time and patience will soon help her overcome this obstacle.
Indy walks well on the lead and with some additional training and practice will come ahead in leaps and bounds. She already knows how to sit, shake hands and gives cuddles. Her big smile when she greats you, lets you know how much she loves your company.
Indy tends to become comfortable with females more quickly than males, but once she gets to know you regardless, she will be a loyal friend for life. As Indy is fairly tall, a home with high fences would be ideal and older children, as Indy’s cuddles could be a little overwhelming for someone little.
Indy is friendly with other dogs, big and small. Gentle when she plays with smaller dogs. Indy has shown some tendency to chase birds, although she has never caught any, including chickens.
Currently Indy is allowed inside at night, although she is happiest choosing her own sleeping place, as she tends to feel the heat. Indy is housetrained and has been known to use a doggy door. She is a great watch dog, being suspicious of strangers that come into her territory. Indy is happy to be at home by herself during the day, outside or inside.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
