About Penelope (On Trial 5/2/14)
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Penelope is a very pretty latte coloured shih tzu, who is 13 years of age, a beautiful older lady, who is unassuming and just enjoys lying around, getting pats, cuddles and treats.
Shih Tzu means ‘Little Lion” but there is nothing fierce about this girl; she is a lover not a hunters and her breed was bred solely to be a companion. Penelope is no trouble whatsoever; she will make a lovely companion to anyone.
Affectionate, happy, outgoing housedogs, who loves nothing more than to follow their owners from room to room. Penelope being a mature lady is more than happy to find a bed or a nice cosy and comfy spot to curl up on.
She gets on well with other dogs, but occasionally can be a bit bossy at food time and if she goes near another bowl and you tell her to leave it she does, a very obedient and lovely old girl.

Penelope’s $100 adoption fee is due to her senior status and includes her, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
