About Puppy Shaggy (On Trial 12/1/14)
Shaggy is a 14 week old Kelpie x Ridgeback puppy. Shaggy is the quieter and smaller than his brother Dozer. Shaggy is a bit more of a snuggler. He will happily play tug of war for a few minutes before running off with his brother and then back onto your feet for a lay down. He is more reserved than his brother preferring his brother to lead the way into mischief before he follows so he will look to you to for a bit of guidance in his new environment. Shaggy is quite obedient once he calms down.
Shaggy sleeps all night in his crate, with his brother and tends to be quite good with toileting outside. However being still so young he'll need a little more work on this. Dozer will need ongoing training and socialisation to ensure he grows up a well adjusted dog.
Shaggy's favourite thing to do is have little tug of war with humans. He just loves to be with people and to have a snuggle with his favourite people, including the young children the he currently lives with. He is also very social and enjoys the company of other dogs.
It will be very important for Shaggy to be able to be with you regularly. He is such a sweet and fun loving dog you will love to spend time with him too. He is not a totally outside dog, he needs some "inside" time each day. He will also need as regular walking and exercise once his vaccinations are complete. He would ideally suit a home with children and/or another dog to play with.
Shaggy will need a home where someone is home most of the time to keep him company, or at least another dog, and a secure yard with good fences. Shaggy will grow to be a medium to large size dog so please consider if a medium to large dog will suit your family.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
