Roy (On Trial 12/1/14)

Roy is a senior, blue cattle dog x whose estimated age is 11. He is an easy going, gentle boy. He is fit and healthy, with a recent vet check finding only some age related deafness and normal wearing of the teeth. He still enjoys a walk daily with our 3 year old border collie, however he is not demanding of exercise. Roy is happy just snoozing in the sun daily and chasing a ball whenever one comes his way. Roy walks well on a lead without pulling and when off lead stays close by. He is a quick learner, already sitting before being fed and coming consistently with a call or a whistle.

Roy enjoys company and is friendly with everyone including young children. He loves a tummy rub and a cuddle from our children aged 12 and 10. Roy is accepting of other dogs and is great with cats - barely giving ours a second look! He has shown no real interest in our lizard, rabbits, chooks or birds either.

Roy would suit a family looking for a mature, trained dog or second dog for company to another. He would also particularly make an excellent companion dog for an older person or couple with his unassuming but affectionate nature and "low maintenance" personality.

Roy currently sleeps indoors on a soft dog bed and is house trained. However he will also sleep outdoors in a suitable kennel under shelter. He just goes with the flow!
