About Summer .. a beautiful lady!
Summer is a loving social dog, she is easy going and is happy to meet new people and animals.
Summer has been around younger children, with supervision, and she is respectful and gentle.
Summer is active, enjoys walks and playing with other dogs. Summer LOVES water and will swim in lakes or rivers...play in the paddling pool etc
We prefer that her new family has knowledge of and/ or experience with the Beagle breed. Summer only barks when excited during play or at tea time, Beagles have a very distinctive bark.
Beagles do LIKE company! Human and furkid/s attention and company will keep Summer happy and content. She loves other dogs and plays with all types and ages...Beagles can and do dig... Summer has only dug one hole during her time here and that is her cool spot to lay in the heat.
Please note Summer had only been in her last home for a month, as her owners had found her on a free to good home website and then found that they were not suited to an active social butterfly like Summer. Prior to that she came from a questionable home environment so because she has been through a lot, she needs time, understanding, attention and daily walks and activities.
Summer did dig out to escape her last home but since being in care she has not tried to escape at all. This may have been due to hormonal issues, as she has been through a phantom pregnancy prior to being desexed. Hormones can make anyone do crazy things lol. Since being in care Summer has settled in very well and is very happy. It is essential that she has attention and company, Beagles are very social pack animals.
I highly recommend Summer as a loving companion, she is just a beautiful sweet dog...she would love a home and family to call her own....but in the meantime she is a much loved foster dog!
