Abby (On Trial 30/1/14)

Introducing the lovely Abby girl, a 2 year old kelpie x cattle dog, who has plenty of affection to give. Abby is quite used to being by herself during school hours when we are at work or school, and is thrilled to see us all each afternoon. She behaves herself very well when we are not home, and spends this time sleeping, exploring, chasing whatever bug she can find or playing with a chew toy. Abby will only bark when someone passes by our fence. Our neighbours were not even aware we had a dog in our backyard for quite some time!

Abby is currently living with my family of two adults and two children. She adores all members of the family, and would be best suited to a family with older children (over 10 years of age). Abby can be quite shy but is getting used to our busy household and its constant and many visitors.

Abby is house trained, and prefers to sleep inside on her bed. She needs to be allowed inside of an evening to enjoy family time. She will happily eat any food given to her and is not at all food possessive.

Abby would be best suited to being an only dog, but has happily played with visiting dogs in our backyard. Abby is wonderful on a lead and is learning to not pay attention to passing cars and other dogs. She enjoys daily walks, but if this were not possible everyday would be fine playing catch in the yard. Abby brings the ball back and drops it at your feet, tail wagging and waiting for the next game.

Abby would be a wonderful family or companion pet. She loves to lay at your feet and is very affectionate, showing us all how she enjoys nothing better than a big hug.
