Chase (On Trial 29/12/13)

Meet Chase - the ultimate family man! Chase is a beautiful, well natured, energetic, 2 year old purebred Labrador. He loves children and gets on well with other animals. He socialises well with children, small dogs and the poultry he's had contact with whilst in foster care and is good with our pet rabbit also.

Cuddles are Chases' most favourite thing. He loves them as much as he adores food! He will bring his adopted family hours of joy and fun as he has a beautiful and social nature. He loves to play chase with a person and will run with you for ages so he would suit an active family of any age or even someone who enjoys jogging.

Chase loves cuddles and tummy rubs. He loves to be inside with his family and is well house trained, so he needs a furever home where he is invited inside often. He is content to sleep outside in his large cosy kennel however he would be very happy to sleep inside if invited.

During his time in foster care Chase has shown he is very clever with basic commands like "Sit", coming when called (most of the time! LOL), "Stay" for a short period, "Lay down" and playing ball games (although he often forgets to bring the ball back). As with most dogs, he will benefit from a family who will continue with consistent, positive training.

Chase walks on the lead quite well, however with all the exciting sights and smells he can get easily distracted pulling on the lead or smelling the scents of nature (yes that blade of grass is so enticing he won't budge). We keep him on a lead at the park as his interest in all things aromatic and exciting will distract him from returning each and every time you call him....so he will need further consistent training on recall for off leash areas.

Chase has outgrown the puppy chewing stage. However, like a bower bird, he loves to collect things he finds left outside. It's not unusual to find him gathering household items like his food bowl, blanket and the kids tricycle on the lawn! He looks at you proudly as he is so clever in his gathering! He will bark to let you know when someone comes near the backyard, especially at night. He is a young dog that needs adequate exercise, toys, training and attention. Like any young dog, if his needs aren't met he might dig or chew out of frustration. But if you take him for a daily walk and let him be a part of your life Chase will an absolute joy and delight to have around. His excitement when you come home, is amazing and his love is unconditional. When you meet him, you will fall in love straight away, as we have. He is the ultimate family man!
