Sarge (On Trial 29/12/13)

Hi there my name is Sarge and I am a very energetic 18 month old, male Kelpie cross Koolie who just loves going for long runs at the beach with other dogs.

I love to go on daily walks and I’m still learning to walk on a lead properly, but I am definitely improving every day. If you let me off the lead all you need to do is call me and I will come straight back to you.

My foster family includes 2 older children whom I have to say I love very much; especially the 8 year old boy, he spends heaps of time with me. I am yet to experience younger children and am unsure how I would behave around them.

You could say I am quite a social boy, spending my time with 3 other dogs. We are a mixed bunch really, there is myself, 2 large young dogs and 1 small older dog that keeps us all in line.

I am in great health and eat just about anything; however given the choice my preference is mixed meat and vegetable mashed together, but I am also okay with tinned food. I like snacks to biscuits for a little bit of a nibble, raw bones, and special treats such as pig’s ears.

I sleep inside at night, so it was important that I was housetrained and know how to use a doggy door. During the day I am outside soaking up the sunrays and playing. I love to be invited in when the family are home as they love to give us a lot of attention and cuddles.

So far I have learnt my name and how to sit and come, I know I still I have a lot to learn but I am keen and willing to be trained.

I have a favourite squeaky orange bone that I love to play with, it makes the best noises and it’s a great chew. Playing fetch is fun; I am just not that great on bringing the toys back to be thrown again. I’m sure that will come in time.

Car trips, what can I say there is nothing better than being in the car with the window down and the wind blowing in my fur; so if your car is a convertible I am your perfect wingman!

My ideal family would be energetic and take me on outings in the car especially if it is to the beach in summer time it is so much fun. I think I would also love my new home to have wide open spaces where I can run, run, run to my heart’s content. I wouldn’t mind if my new home had another dog or if I was by myself but if I was an only boy please don’t leave me too long please by myself because that would mean less time for me to be able to show you how much I can love you and make you happy.
