I've been adopted!
About Ruby Roo
My name is Ruby and I'll be your best mate for life if you let me. I can be a bit shy at first but give me a bit of quiet and gentleness - by dinnertime I'll be all yours!
I know how to sit, go to my bed, give high fives and shake paws. I don't jump up unless I'm asked and even then I'm very gentle about it. Yeah, I know: cute AND clever, right? I even know how to 'get off the couch' though I'll do my best to wriggle out of it: literally I'll wriggle with my paws in the air and give you doe eyes until you're probably tempted to come hang on the couch for a snuggle too.
I sleep well in my bed and won't bother you in the night. Of course if you want a foot warmer on your bed I'll be more than happy to oblige.
My three favourite things are snuggles, walks, and fooooood!
Some things about me you need to know:
- I really really really love to be around people!
- The foster mum has nicknamed me Ruby Roo because she thinks I'm part kangaroo. So I hope you have tall fences. Because of my jumping ability I might make a really good agility dog, if you were into that. If it involves cuddles and treats and being outside with you, I'll do anything: so sign me up!
- I've got a blue tongue. Bet you don't know many dogs with blue tongues, do you! I'm cute, clever, AND unique!
MY IDEAL HOME would be with people who work from home and who will love me lots. I am super-smart, I learn and adjust quickly and my ideal owners will appreciate this, challenge me and/or reward me with treats, pats and cuddles.
MY ENERGY LEVEL
I am a moderately energetic young lady - I like to walk, I don't pull on my lead, and will walk as far as you can! I LOVE walks! I even help you put my harness on by lifting my paw up for you so you can clip me in.
SUITABILITY WITH CHILDREN
I would be happy living with kids. I'm well trained so I would be very low maintenance, but like most doggies I will need children who can give me my space when I need it.
SUITABILITY WITH OTHER CATS AND DOGS
I like dogs in the park, but at home I want my humans all to myself, so I need to be the only dog in the house, please! I lived with a cat once and didn't mind him. My current foster mum has cockatiels (parrots) that sometimes sit on her shoulder and I haven't tried to eat them once!
Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill an enquiry form.
You can receive this by emailing NSWadoptions@maggiesrescue.org or visiting our webpage www.maggiesrescue.org
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
