About Spike
Spike is looking for an active individual or family as his owner has had to move overseas and would suit someone who has time to take him out for a daily walk or to play games in a backyard. Spike would also suit a home where he is the only pet as he has had limited contact with other dogs and small animals. Currently Spike is living with a retired and frail couple who are having difficulty coping with his energy and who feel guilty that they cannot give him the active lifestyle and stimulation that the working dog breed needs. Spike has a happy personality and is obedient. He can sit and stay until he is told to be 'free' and has the potential to be trained and to learn new tricks. For instance, he already knows how to shake hands, catch food, high five and bark on command. Spike is also house trained and sleeps inside with his current owners. Spike loves to run around and play games and his favourite one is to chase a tennis ball and return it to be thrown again ... sometimes, he can even catch the ball 'on the fly' ! Spike enjoys pats by his owner, is friendly when meeting new people and is gentle with younger children.
