Meet BILLBOB, AKA BILLY!
He's approximately 11 months old, dachshund Broome special mix and is looking for a loving permanent home.

Here's what his carer says about him:

Nature:
Billy is a very laid-back, happy healthy and loyal boy. He loves company but is not needy. He is very eager to please. He has very good manners and will sit, wait well for his food, walk nicely on the lead and retrieve a ball. He is very non-aggressive.
Billy has a very strong jaw and sometimes forgets to let go! He loves to go for ankles and toes but will stop when growled at. He does this mainly to gain attention. He has a little quirk of sitting and staring at you, without moving, until you talk to him. He is pretty easy going with other dogs. Billy likes to be the boss at home but outside he will back down from any aggressive dogs.

Behaviour with cats and children:
Billy is untested with cats but loves children. He plays stalk and tackle with children when they come to visit but can sometimes forget how strong his jaw is, so would probably be best suited to a family with older children who can be assertive with him.

Activity level:
Billy is quite active and needs to run and play. He currently has a huge back yard to run around and takes advantage by playing chase round the yard at top speed a couple of times a day.

Inside or outside dog:
Billy is both, according to where he wants to be at the time! He loved hanging out inside with the family in the evening. He is house trained.

Likes and dislikes:
Billy likes telling you he loves you by licking. He loves children and hanging out. He loves cuddles and being told what a good boy he is. He also loves being with you and 'helping' in the garden. Dislikes bath time!

Ideal home:
If new owners are out at work, Billy would prefer to have another dog for company. As long as he has someone to hang out with, he would be happy in any household.

Medical:
Billy was brought into SAFE's care with a badly broken leg and fractured pelvis. He has had some issues with the leg and it was due to be amputated. Extensive physio and acupuncture has meant that he now has full use of the leg including good muscle tone. Due to this injury however he may encounter arthritis in later life.
