Jake

Hi I'm Jake and returning here after being adopted out as a puppy. My young owner does not have the time to look after me properly anymore and has reluctantly surrendered me. I went to Obedience Classes where I got to Level 2. I will respond to sit, wait, stay, come, paw, drop, leave, in your bed and stop unless I am very excited or distracted. I am a strong dog and need a very firm handler who will let me know that I am not top dog. I will try it on and need to be kept in my place.

I can be very boisterous and am therefore not suitable for young children. However am a cuddly and affectionate boy and need to be around people most of the time or I get bored and lonely and will take it out on my bedding. I hate being shut outside on my own and would prefer to be adopted by someone who is home during the day to give me the company I crave. If you take me for lots of walks, treat me as one of the family and include me in your activities I will be a wonderful companion. I am house trained, sleep inside, have free run of the house and presently live with older teenagers. I am good in the car and like a lot of animals do not like lawn mowers vacuum cleaners or thunderstorms.

I need a single dog home at this stage as up until now I have not shown myself to be friendly towards other dogs. However as I had a young owner it may well be that my behaviour is protective rather than aggressive and SRV will test me with other dogs when I arrive. Unfortunately they are full at the moment so this cannot happen at present.
