Adoption information
I've been adopted!
About Jackson
Jackson is a happy, affectionate and inquisitive hound who loves PEOPLE.
YES. He is very food orientated like most Beagles. In fact he is a typical Beagle - gentle, intelligent, even tempered, determined, amiable and excitable.
- Other dogs?
He is not really interested in the company of other dogs. He is indifferent.
- Cats?
Unsure
- Kids?
Because he can be ‘’exuberant’’ we recommend primary school kids and older.
- Size?
23 kgs
- Activity level / exercise requirements ?
Moderate. Jackson is a lively fellow. So if you want someone to encourage you to be more active, Jackson is your man. He loves the park and is partial to a play in the back yard too. He is a great running buddy.
He will sleep most of the day when not exploring outside with you or playing.
- Escape artist?
No
- Does the dog need company during the day?
Jackson will not tolerate long periods of time without human interaction. He will struggle with full time workers unless you make him a high priority when you are home. Another dog for company is not Jackson's preferred option. He will not fight but he will not necessarily bond/interact with it much.
- Toilet Trained?
Yes
- Likes / dislikes ?
As he is a typical ‘chow hound’ he loves food :-) Other likes are walks, playing with the tennis ball and most importantly, PEOPLE.
Jackson is scared of thunder and lightning so you will need to make him feel safe and secure during storms.
- Ideal home ?
Jackson needs a home where he is the central part of the family. Beagles need a confident but kind owner to ensure they are obedient and well behaved. If you merely want a friend for your current dog, Jackson is probably not your boy.
- GENERALLY
He is always happy to see you but is an independent dog. He will not badger you for attention all the time and DOES NOT suffer from separation anxiety at all. Very easy going.

Please submit an EXPRESSION OF INTEREST from www.dogadoption.org.au
Adoption details
We strongly recommend you read the dogs' profile carefully as everything we know about the dog/s is listed.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) http://www.dogadoption.org.au/adoption---expression-of-interest.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner/s. It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog/s.
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we do not usually allow trials.
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
