About Ky
Ky came to us with 6 puppies at the end October this year. We received a call saying that her owner had left town leaving behind 7 dogs and 150 pigeons. The people had said the owner was an alcoholic and was not looking after his animals anymore. They asked if I could take Ky’s puppies and rehome them. Apparently she was not feeding them anymore. She was going to be euthanised as she had not been socialised and did not like humans. Dr Chris of Riverbank Animal Hospital thought she should get a chance and that she was probably just being very protective of her babies. He also thought that they were too small to leave Ky. So we decided to give Ky a chance. She is a beautiful Koolie or Kelpie cross, very gentle and affectionate and has learnt to trust humans. Her pups are also available and are gorgeous playful well-adjusted and socialised beautiful puppies who will probably end up bigger than their mother. They are all desexed chipped and immunised ready for their new homes
Adoption details
HappyPaws Haven is fussy about who adopts these animals and where they are housed and cared for. The adoption criteria is documented as a questionnaire and strictly adhered to. We do not adopt animals to people who rent unless they are long term rental at the same address and have landlords written permission.
We ask if they have thought about the attributes they want in a dog, lifestyle, childrens ages, prepared to train, etc. We also talk about responsible pet ownership, \ fully fenced yards, hours unattended etc. and finally a vet reference.
