About Kate
Kate is waiting at Hunter RSPCA for her forever family to find her.She is a shy girl and sometimes takes a little while to relax around new people. With positive reinforcement and treats she will learn to trust you. When taking her for walks and meeting new people it would be best if you carry treats just in case she becomes afraid.Kate plays with a few dogs at the shelter. If you already have a dog and would like to adopt Kate you will need to bring your dog in to make sure they can be friends.Walking in new areas can be a little scary for Kate. At the shelter we are helping her to become more confident by showing her walking in new areas can be a positive experience. This can be continued at home. The friendly staff at Hunter RSPCA will be happy to give you some tips to help you.Pocket pets and cats dont interest Kate very much. She is happy to know they are there and let them get on with their lives. If you have cats or pocket pets at your house you can adopt Kate. It is always a good idea to supervise new animals together until you know they can coexist comfortably. When Kate is excited she pulls lightly on her lead. With a little training and regular walks Kate could become a great walking partner.Rough play and toys dont interest Kate she would rather receive pats and cuddles from you. When she is more confident around you she might start playing.Loud noises and sudden movements scare Kate. For this reason it would be best that she doesnt go to a home with boisterous children. If you think you have the right home for Kate please come in she is looking forward to meeting you.
