About Rupert *special needs*
Rupert is one very loving and special boy and he really needs a second chance at a happy life!
Rupert will go above and beyond for a good chin scratch or head butt! He is so affectionate and loving and will make a wonderful new family companion.
This special boy doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body... he rolls on his back and begs you for a tummy scratch and plays with your hand when you go in for a scratch.. he is so cute and funny.
This beautiful boy will need to be an inside only cat for the rest of his life as he is FIV positive *please see his medical notes below* however he is very happy inside. toilet trained and LOVES snuggling up on the couch or bed!

Medical notes
Rupert has a condition called FIV also know as Feline AIDS. This condition does not affect him physically (he looks and acts just like any other cat) however it does weaken their immune system a little so makes them more susceptible to catching colds (cat flu) and other conditions so an inside only life is required.
FIV is transferrable to other cats but only via blood to blood interaction so if you have another friendly cat that will not be aggressive towards Rupert (i.e.; bite or scratch him) then the risk of infection is very minimal. There is also an FIV vaccination which minimises the chances of transferring the disease.
Other species and humans can not contract FIV from an infected cat.
A healthy FIV positive cat can live for many years, and indeed can often outlive non-infected cats, but please be aware that this is not always the case. Due to their impaired immune system, the cat may succumb to illness earlier so prompt veterinary assistance for even minor symptoms is important. With good care however, many FIV cats can live normal lifespans. These days, it's not unusual to find FIV cats reaching 15 years or more.
