Ringo (On Trial 1/12/13)

Ringo is a lovely affectionate dog who enjoys being around people. He is a 7 year old small/medium size Jack Russell Terrier, standing 32cm at the shoulder and weighing in at a healthy 8.4kg.

He is quite lively and loves playing with his toys [though he does tend to destroy them!] and loves to play “tug” with you. He is house trained and loves to cuddle up with you in front of the TV. He has a lovely soft coat and does not shed as much as other Jack Russell's we have fostered.

He behaves very well when being bathed and loves being brushed. Ringo sits on command and comes when called. He loves treats and is responding very well to further training using treat rewards.

He gets on well with our resident silky terrier but is unpredictable with other dogs we meet when going for walks. He is particularly excitable/wary when he sees dogs bigger than himself. He is fine with small dogs who approach in a friendly manner. We have commenced training him to ignore other dogs [and cats] when on our walks.

Ringo responds very quickly to kindness and settled in very quickly with us. He has never tried to escape. He will make a loyal companion for an active retiree or family with school age children.

Ringo is in foster care in Anna Bay, Port Stephens, NSW (north of Newcastle).
