Jazz (On Trial 16/01/2014)

Jazz is a beautiful 10 month old pup looking for a forever home. She is a large mixed breed. She loves human company and following the kids (6 and 8yrs) around.

As she can be a bit excitable she would best suit a home with children who are confident around large dogs. She also loves her doggy foster brother and sister. They play tug for ages and love chasies as well. Jazz loves having a chew on some toys too.

Jazz is mostly white with a few random brindle splotches, including one that “patches” one eye. At approximately 10mth old Jazz is still a puppy. She currently weighs 22kg and has still has some filling out to do. Her shoulders are about 40cm from the ground.

Being a blonde, Jazz needs a shady yard and sunscreen applied to her pink snout to protect her from the sun. Jazz’s forever home will require a nice yard, secure fencing and adequate shelter. She would love some doggy company or she could be an only dog providing she gets plenty of people time inside, chew toys and daily walks to burn some energy and stretch those long legs.

Like all puppies Jazz requires ongoing training and socialisation. She can sit for treats but needs practice at all other commands.Jazz walks well with a harness and lead, may even make someone a good jogging buddy.

Because she is still so young housetraining is also on her to do list but we are working on this and as far as toilet training goes, Jazz hasn't had an accident inside since her first few days in foster care. She responds really well to treat training as is very food motivated.Jazz has not been tested with cats. She will need ongoing further training but is very food motivated and learns quickly. She travels well in the car and loves to hang her head out the window.

Jazz loves getting a pat and is very gentle. We let her inside with us when we are home and she is outside during the day when at work. She currently sleeps with her blankie on a trampoline bed with her doggy friends in an indoor/outdoor room with access to the backyard.

We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
