Puppy Maverick (On Trial 14/12/13)

Maverick is a male, 14 week old Jack Russell Terrier x Maltese puppy. He's terrific with other dogs, large and small and with children. He loves to play tug with the other dogs and to play with toys and generally just have fun. When he's had enough playtime he'll snuggle into the crook of your arm like a baby and fall fast asleep.

He is only tiny, weighing just 2.5 kgs at the moment but he is still a puppy. He will grow up to be a small dog of perhaps 6kg. Because he is small, he is not suited to a family with children under 10 in case they should accidently drop him.

Maverick is an inside dog. He likes to be able to go inside and outside during the day and then stay inside when it starts to get dark. He has already started to learn to go outside for toileting and will go out if he has access. He definitely needs to sleep inside at night. He'll need a sweater at night in the cooler months.

Maverick loves other dogs and we would love for him to go to a home where he'll have another dog (small or medium sized) to help keep him company. He has a very fine, low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 3 months) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.

We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. Maverick's birthday in 31 July 2013.
