About Simba
Hi my name is Simba. When I came into the shelter I hadn't seen much of the world and found it to be a bit intimidating. I went into the RSPCA's Rehabilitation program to gain confidence and trust in general. I was lucky enuogh to then go out into a lovely foster care home where they continued to work with me to further develop my trust in people and new situations. My new home should be calm and mature with my family being patient and understanding. When I arrive in my new home I may retreat a little or appear cautious so please give me somewhere I feel safe and secure. Please reward all positive brave behaviour to earn my trust quicker. In my foster home I enjoyed the affection and loved my carer (especially when she got me all those new toys... 'cause I LOVE THEM!!!! In saying all of this I need to go to a mature household with no kids under 12. I have made a few canine friends and love a good rumble but can be selective with my BFF's! It is recommended I be rehomed as an only dog however if you do have another dog at home we must meet at the shelter to ensure we get along. If the staff and yourself are happy with the meet then a second match up at your home will be required. If you feel you have the time to work on boosting my confidence I have the potential to become a great companion and love you all the more for your time and efforts. Prospective owners would benefit with advice from our Behavioural Team and will therefore require a behaviour consult to help settle me into my new forever home.
