Asha (adopted 27/12/13)

Asha is a beautiful medium to large, cross breed, female, 1 1/2 years old. She is described as a bull Arab however she is much smaller than that. She loves with all her heart and anyone who is willing to give her the time will be greatly rewarded with her undivided love. Asha can be quite timid and shy at times, and takes time to warm to new people and settle into a new environment. Since coming to stay with us, Asha has developed into the sweetest most loyal and adoring young dog! Her confidence has increased ten fold.

Despite her shyness Asha socialises with dogs very well, she really seems to come out of her shell on neutral ground. Asha currently lives with a large male dog but we would like to rehome her as an only dog. She IS NOT dog aggressive but all this loving and affection is a new concept to her and she wants it all to herself! So for this reason she can be a little possessive of people, this could upset any existing dogs in the family.

Asha walks well on a lead, pulling only if she smells something really good! She is toilet trained and uses a dog door fluently. She does not try and escape our yard, or pull clothing off the line or anything too naughty like that! She will bark if she can see strangers from the yard, but is generally quiet.

Because of her shy nature Asha would not be suitable to be rehomed with very small children as they may intimidate her unintentionally. Asha is very low maintenance and easy going, she sleeps quietly on her own bed throughout the day and night. She can be rehomed as an indoor or outdoor dog, however she is very polite inside and we would like her new family to allow her some inside time for bonding and affection.

Asha's ideal family would be a single person, couple or family with teenage (or older) children. Asha would suit someone moderately active as she does enjoy a walk or jog most days, but is content to relax at home other days without becoming destructive.
