About Bear
Hi my name is Bear aren't I handsome?! I came into the shelter extremely emaciated but as you can see I now look great and am ready for my new home!I am an extremely affectionate and active boy and want to go to a home where I will be allowed indoors and treated like a member of the family! Don't let my size fool you inside I think I'm just an oversized lap dog and love a good cuddle more than anything! I also absolutely love toys so these are a must in my new home!I will need at least one huge walk daily to keep me fit happy and healthy! I can become a little excited on lead like to pull ahead - due to my size this makes me difficult to control. Here in the shelter I'm walked on a harness but a training aid like halti or new-trix would work too!I can be a little unsure around other dogs so I must be the only dog in my new home. I also like to chase cats and pocket pets so cannot be rehomed with any - what's fun for me unfortunately isn't fun for them! When I'm excited I tend to throw my weight around! For this reason I cannot be rehomed with any very young kids as it's likely that I will accidently knock them over... oops! Older children should be taught the proper way to interact with me. I am very clever and already know sit and shake but would benefit from ongoing manners training. I am super food motivated so training is a breeze.I can become unsettled when left alone; a team leader will speak to you about how you can manage this once I'm home. I will need plenty of toys and boredom busters to keep me occupied when left unattended but my favourite is a nice big juicy bone to chew on! My yard will need to be fully secure with high fencing and no gaps that I can push out of. I will need a bath every 6-8 weeks or whenever I get dirty to keep me looking my finest. If you think you can give me the forever home I've always dreamt of please ask the front counter for a dog adoption ticket.
