About Charlie (On Trial 1/3/15) ~ Maltese x Shih Tzu
Charlie is my name and if you are after a family dog then look no further because I’m your guy. I am 7 years old and am a Maltese x Shih Tzu.
What I love is spending time with my foster family; I am so in love with the children of the house and am always very gentle with them. My foster parents even allow me to sleep on the bed with the kids sometimes, but I am just as happy to sleep with my doggy friends in the laundry at night. I am getting really good with going to the toilet outside.
I like other little dogs, and cats. I just walk on by the cats, speaking of walking I am learning to walk well on the lead and I know how to sit for my food and treats plus learning even more commands. I am a pretty smart boy! Car rides are great as well.
Hopefully my new home would have another dog that I can happily play outside with during day, this way I won’t get bored or lonely. My new family would also need to brush me a few times a week, bathe me every few weeks, and have me professionally groomed me every 6 weeks to keep me looking handsome and for comfort.
For more information or to meet Name please phone foster carer Rebecca on 0423 041 999 or email rosella52@bigpond.com. Name is in foster care in Newcastle NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Charlie's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
