Honey (On Trial 23/1/14)

Hi my name is Honey, a cattle x who is sweet, smart and loyal and if you let me I would never leave your side. I’m 7 years of age, but please don’t let my age fool you. I may be mature but I love to run and play. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, well I don’t believe them. The other day I went for my first ever swim; even though I didn’t know anything about, I eventually got the hang of it.

Car rides are fantastic, just mention them and I am in the car before you can fully open the door. I know it is great to go out on walks but I still get a bit excited at times and pull, but if you keep talking to me and tell me to slow down and stay beside you I will.

I am not fussy at all with food, I am happy to chow down on biscuits, chicken necks or chews and know how to sit and wait for my food. My love of food can cause me to do things I wouldn’t normally do, such as pinch food off the table, the temptation is just too unbearable for me, especially if its cat food. Does the cat really need to eat?

My foster brothers are a Great Dane X and a mini poodle, we love to play but I’m also happy to lie down and catch up on some beauty sleep. I also live with kids from 3 to 13 years old, I tell you they have some energy and although I love their company I can get scared and run away when they chase me. I also live with a cat; I leave her alone, as she is old so she doesn’t want to play much.

I am an inside/outside dog, and sleep inside on my bed of a night, and really just like to be around my doggy or human friends. I can go all night without having to be let out to the toilet, and I know how to use the doggy door through the day.
My breed likes to chase anything with wheels, from wheelie bins to cars, so you just need to be mindful of this when I’m not on a lead. Having said that I am very good at listening so if you tell me early not to I will be on my best behaviour and not chase them.

My ideal forever home would be inside with another active doggy friend but I would be happy to be your only friend if you were home with me most of the time. I would need to have someone home with me a lot of the time as I am a very active dog still for my age.
