About Angus
Angus is a lively and spunky 15 month young jack russell terrier cross who loves to be your shadow following you around the house and yard. Angus is in doggy heaven dashing around the backyard playing with his beloved toys. He enjoys inside time with his humans but he is also very happy and seems to prefer being outside in the sunshine, so he would suit a family where he can be an inside/outside dog.
Angus loves fetching for you and playing rope pull games. He is good with water and has been known to dive in to the pool to retrieve his toys. His favourite past-time is to perch on his foster mummy's lap for endless cuddles...he would happily give cuddles all day long if there's an available lap!!
Being a Jack Russell Angus is very clever and is food motivated so he is quick to learn new rules and boundaries with the aid of treats or his toys. He has basic obedience training and knows to come, sit and wait. He has learnt to walk on lead after having no lead training before coming into foster care. He can still get a little fearful during walks and will sometimes bark at strangers in the street so he is still learning how to walk calmly all the time. He loves to run on the lead so if you like a gentle jog then Angus would love to be your jogging buddy.
Angus is in foster care with two other dogs whom he likes to stay close to and play with. Angus is a loyal fellow and therefore he takes some time to get used to new doggy companions so introductions to other dogs need to be done slowly..allowing him time and space to integrate with them. If you have an existing dog you will need some animal experience and strong boundaries to help Angus settle in. Therefore Angus is most suited to a home without another dog unless you have time to commit to the initial positive integration. His foster family has 2 guinea pigs which Angus doesn't get at all! He wants to play but doesn't realise they don't want to play with him so he may have a similar experience with cats and other pocket pets.
Angus would love an active family that can walk him often or take him for a light jog... He does get tired quickly but with summer on the way he will get fitter with his walks - although he will still love a well deserved doggy siesta after walks to recharge! Angus would also suit a working family as he's quite content with toys and chew toys whilst you're away. He loves to welcome you home at the end of your day with special Angus cuddles.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. Foster carers know dogs in their care very well and can tell you further information about the pet. The carer will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet (usually at a park near to the foster carers home)
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member, and a two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
