About Rugby
Rugby is an amazing boy with lots of character! From the first thing in the morning until the last thing at night, he has a ridiculous smile on his face, and his big eyes will have you melting.
A very strong boy, Rugby needs a confident and capable handler, especially when out walking. However, he is very responsive and eager to learn, and that is maximised when treats are involved as he loves his food! He is good to walk but can be stubborn when he really wants to pee on a tree... though has gotten much better at learning there's some give and take in the daily walk.
Rugby loves people and affection but can be cautious of men he doesn't know. It doesn't take him long to warm up though and, ironically, he actually responds to men a lot more. He is a natural guard dog, very loyal to his people and will let you know if someone is up to no good around the property (but doesn't go berserk when people simply knock or visits).
He loves getting out and exploring but is still getting used to the world and its sounds, so will need a family that has patience and understanding. Inside the house he is an absolute dream. He doesn't destroy anything, he doesn't knock anything over, he just loves chilling out with his humans and getting lots of praise. He's not a fan of being poked and prodded and because of this, wouldn't suit young children, but could do well with older children who understand how to interact with dogs appropriately.
All in all, Rugby is going to make a fantastic companion - a real mate. He is quiet, calm, and very loyal. He has the biggest smile I've seen and can be a real goof when he wants to be, doing ridiculous zoomies in the backyard.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
