About Bindi
UPDATE 1 DECEMBER: Bindi has come such a long way since coming to PAWS and her foster carer describes her as an easy going little dog who makes no fuss. Bindi is house trained and goes through the doggy door. She also enjoys going out on her her two daily walks. Bindi won?t mind a home as an only dog as long as she has access to inside and out at all times.
Bindi was a dishevelled mess when she came to PAWS from the Pound. Her coat was long, filthy and matted and she was in obvious pain with a nasty red patch on her face. Bindi's first stop was to the groomer to have her coat removed and a nice bath then she was off to the vet where she was examined. It was discovered that Bindi had an abscess on a tooth root that had broken through the skin under her eye so she had a major dental to remove the tooth. After having the wound area cleaned, Bindi was put on a course of antibiotics and it's pleasing to say that she has recovered from the abscess and is enjoying life to the full. Bindi has also been to see the doggy ophthalmologist (Dr Mark Bilson from SASH) because one of her eyes is blue and we needed to have a diagnosis and treatment plan. Dr Mark gave us the great news that Bindi has perfect vision in her eye that is brown and clear. Her blue eye is the result of trauma or an ulcer that was left untreated in the past and has now caused discolouration of that eye. Bindi does have some vision in that eye which is great to know. She is now a happy, joyful little dog that is loving her new life free of pain. Bindi is in care with a Cocker Spaniel and wants to play with him but he is not as interested (although it's still early days!). She also enjoys going out in the car and on walks around the neighbourhood or to the local park. Bindi does not have great hearing and goes into a deep sleep on her foster carer's bed. She would love a new home with a small, male dog and one with a young family, a retired or working couple would also be wonderful. Bindi is a house dog and would love access to the home at all times. Bindi's coat will grow and then require some grooming to keep her looking her best, There is a lot of life in this lovely little dog and it's her turn to shine.
