About Rocco (On Trial 6/12/13)
Hi I am Rocco; you could be forgiven for thinking I was going to big fella due to my name. I am a longhaired dachshund x terrier but I do have a big heart, and am less than 2 years old. I love people both young and old and really enjoy playing with the kids in the yard, chasing balls, toys and playing tug ‘o’ wars. Another favourite pastime of mine is to go to the beach, only for the feel of the sand between my paws; I’m not a surfer, although I do not mind having a nice bath at home.
I can be quite shy around other dogs. I prefer female dogs to males. However I do spend time playing with my foster family’s small dog. I'm fine with cats! My favourite foods include chicken, chicken feet, eggs, smackos and dry food. I can sit on command but only if you reward me with a little treat, so if you could spare some of your time to train I would really appreciate that as I would like to learn different behaviours.
My foster mum says I am the perfect dog; barely hearing a peep out of me, saying I am peaceful, friendly, extremely affectionate and love getting lots of cuddles. \ I really like to stay by your side.
I am a very happy and energetic little guy that would suit any family that would love to be active with me and share the love I have.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
