Sasha (On Trial 20/10/13)

Sasha’s my name and winning your heart is my game! I am just a puppy at 6 months old and a staffy breed. If my big cute staffy smile does not immediately grab your attention, then maybe my luscious shiny black coat with brindle highlights, big brown eyes and my cute spotty belly will.

I simply adore children and when I see them I will immediately drop to their feet, rolling over to present my cute spotty belly for a rub from them. I think I love kids so much because they are close to the ground, just like me.

My favourite pastime is chewing my toys and balls, but when I am not doing that I love nothing more than cuddling up on your lap in front of the television. I do also like to give your toes a bit of a lick when they are dangling off the lounge.

Prior to coming into care, I did not have time outside the backyard, which meant no socialisation. As a result, I am wary of other dogs and my first reaction is to be defensive therefore my new family will need to be conscious of this and be committed to helping me overcome these fears.

At the moment I am sharing a yard with two large easy going dogs who understand that I need space which I appreciate but it did take me quite a while to like them. At this stage I have not been introduced to cats, but I am still only young so it is possible we could become friends.

Currently I sit for treats but still need to work on all other commands and walking on the lead. Given that I am still very young and prior to coming into care was not fortunate enough to spend time indoors, housetraining is still on my “to do list”.
Like all young puppies I will require ongoing training and socialisation.

My forever home will require a nice yard, secure fencing and adequate shelter. I would be happy to be an only dog providing I get plenty of people time, chew toys and walks to burn some energy.
