About Preston *On Trial in His New Home*
*PRESTON IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES PLEASE* Meet handsome Preston! He’s a delightful, relaxed little dog who seems wise beyond his years. He’s looking for a loving home with lots of cuddles to give – will it be with you???
Found wandering the streets of Mildura with a couple of furry mates, then ending up in the pound waiting for an owner who didn’t come, Preston is now enjoying the good life in foster care where he’s being spoilt by his foster family. This calm, cool, confident little dog is friendly and affectionate and adores human companionship. He gets along well with his carers’ 8 year old and 6 year old little dogs as he’s not at all yappy or “in your face” although he will join in for playtime and they’re helping him discover the joy of toys! Clever Preston figured out the doggie door and knows “sit” – it was actually hard trying to get a photo of him where he wasn’t sitting! \ He quickly got the hang of the name we’ve given him and has been learning to play “fetch” even if he doesn’t always bring the ball back. We don’t think he’s had much experience on a lead so he’ll need some practice with this but he’s a fast learner and a bright little boy so it won’t take long. Even his toilet training has been going well!

Preston is happy to be picked up and snuggled or he’ll sit quietly beside you while you watch tv, and he also likes to lie down and watch you while you go about your chores; he just enjoys being a part of the household goings on. He’s a good eater and not at all fussy and will take treats gently though we think he may have had to fight for his food in his previous life as he does food guard a little and will “steal” chicken necks off their other dogs so his carer is working on this. Adorable Preston doesn’t appear to lose hair and will only need the occasional bath and a trim (mainly around his face) to keep his coat in tip top condition – we reckon there’s a good chance he’s part Australian Terrier. As he sleeps inside at night (he’s been known to sneak onto his carers’ bed!) he would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a friendly doggie companion or on his own, but only if he won’t be left alone for long periods of time as he is used to having company and has always had another dog around, so 6 plus hours on week days by himself in a backyard would not suit him at all. Secure fencing, daily walks or runs around the backyard and loads of love will make Preston very happy indeed!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
