About Jali and Xena (On Hold pending adoption 5/2/14)
Jali and Xena are beautiful, 4 yr old Poodle x Shih-Tzu, brother and sister looking for a loving forever home together. The first 4 years of their lives have not been happy ones so they will need a loving and caring family to give them a secure and happy life. Since coming into rescue they have both learnt how to play with toys and love a game of fetch, and will even give the toy or ball back for you to throw again. It's amazing how quickly they have blossomed into such happy and easy going dogs. They always seem to be smiling now.
Both Jali (male) and Xena (female) are very well behaved and are not barkers. They only bark to let you know when someone is around. Xena just loves to sit on your lap and get pats and when she looks into your eyes you can feel the love she has to give and melts your heart. Jali loves his toys but he does love to pull the stuffing out of them and with his overbite he always looks as though he is smiling Both are very affectionate , loving little dogs that will bring a lot of happiness to the right family.
They are learning to walk on a lead and are doing very well but may still need a bit of time to master it. They will need some more gentle, reward based training. They are inside dogs and are house trained.
They get on well with other dogs and I have had no trouble with my birds or guinea pig. They are great in the car and have shown no fear of thunderstorms. They have non-shedding coats so they will need brushing and bathing and professional clipping to maintain their beautiful coats. They are such a sweet and happy pair, they are sure to make some lucky family very happy to have found them.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
