Buddy (On Trial 7/10/13)

Buddy is a Maltese who is 11 yrs old, but acts like a spring chicken who wants to play and have fun! He is used to being an inside dog (he knows the rules of the house) who has been very much loved and doted on. Buddy loves to chase a ball, whether it is big or small, tennis ball or soccer ball, and he is not fussed if he plays with a stuffed toy completely mangled or in good shape (tug-a-war is also an enjoyed activity). At other times he is very happy asleep on the floor, lounge or on your lap.

Buddy is starting to enjoy times outside, he has realised how nice it is to have a lazy lie down with the sun on his back. He is not a big barker, though he does like to say hello to you when you come home, and maybe a bark to say “hey, it’s your turn to throw the ball”.

Buddy has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.

Buddy would suit different types of households. \ He enjoys going for a daily walk, but is quite content if he only gets a game and some TLC for a few days. He is not suitable to be permanently around young children who want to pick him up; I think he believes he is now allowed to have a rest from that sort of attention. That doesn’t mean his aggressive in anyway, as his not, he is a happy dog, who is used to being part of a family. He is beginning to learn to play with other small dogs like himself, but he is quite content with just having his human family around him.
