About Ellie (On Trial 5/10/13)
This beautiful little girl is Ellie, Pomeranian x Tenterfield Terrier, 18 months old. She has a very soft, gentle and playful nature. She loves the company of other dogs, walks beautifully on and off lead. She is housetrained and uses a doggy door and is not mischievous when left in the house. She is rather shy but also brave at the same time. So she will go off to explore something new then run back for a pat or cuddle of reassurance.
Ellie is one of a litter of 12 dogs we rescued from one property in Sydney where they had been very neglected and had no human contact. Ellie and her siblings have taken several months to feel comfortable with humans and now she is ready to find her perfect home.
Ellie is very easy to bath and groom and she is used to being hydro-bathed and blow-dried and she sometimes has bad hair days. She has the most gorgeous soft hair that is a pleasure to brush. She enjoys sitting on your lap and being brushed. You can keep her hair long because it doesn't get easily tangled and is so beautiful, or get it clipped if you prefer the shorter look. She sheds very little so need bathing, brushing, and clipping every 3 or 4 months.
Ellie is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside as much as possible and to sleep inside. She will need to have another dog for company in her forever home because she has always had her siblings around her. I also have her brother Milo in care so if you don't already have another dog you can adopt Milo as well. He is red coloured and looks like a little fox.
I would prefer that Ellie go to a couple, single or family without young children and I think she would be happier with someone who is home a lot of the time.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
