About Mitzy (On Trial 18/10/13)
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Mitzy is a 15 month old, purebred Rottweiler. She loves to cuddle and is very affectionate. She is wonderful with children and very gentle. She is living with another larger dog and they get on great. Mitzy loves her daily walks and is doing very well with learning not to pull on the lead. She can be a little over eager when she first meets other dogs but then just loves to play. She will sit, stay, shake hands, and her favourite " cuddle" .
She greatly enjoys coming inside of an evening for a few hours and seems to be house trained. She must be allowed to come inside in her forever home. She being with people. She is fine sleeping outside so long as she has a kennel which is under cover and has plenty of bedding.
I have walked her past plenty of cats and she seems interested but doesn't become aggressive. I have not had her in a yard with cat off leash.
She would be fine as an only dog or with another large dog for company. I've noticed that half the day she will play and sleep by herself leaving my lazy dog to sleep and veg out by himself. But when he wants to play she is happy with that too.
When she first meets other dogs she shows her teeth a little and hair sometimes comes up (like it did when I introduced her to my Rottweiler) but she quickly relaxes and has not bitten him or any others. Now Mitzy and my dog are the best of mates. I have spent a lot of time getting her to not pull on the lead and not jumping on people as soon as they walk outside. So now she is getting pretty good on the leash and never jumps up until invited. She learns quickly and likes to please you.
Mitzy is not a very stubborn rotti and would make a great first time rotti for anyone. Mitzy would suit a family with or without kids and although she loves to play with our other dog she is just as happy hanging out by herself.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
