Sana (On Trial 27/9/13)

This lovely lady is Sana. She is a 4 year old Kelpie x Labrador who has a beautiful, gentle nature. I have no idea how such a gorgeous dog has ended up without a home. She walks well on a lead, she sits, stays, lays and jumps on command and would love to be engaged with more training in the future. I’m trying to get her to speak on command at the moment. She loves to please.

Quirks: When she wants a pat, she’ll nose your arm until it is patting her. After a bath she will instantly roll around in the sand or dirt around the house. She won’t shake off when bathing until it is all finished! She needs to know that you’re around. She has shown signs of attachment anxiety and has dug up my veggie garden when left in the backyard alone. In a week she is able to be left alone with less digging. We are working hard on helping her with this anxiety; she may need to be in a home with another dog.

She gets on well with other dogs and although not submissive, she is very calm and patient, like a dog that has had litters. Not sure about cats. She doesn’t chase the birds in the yard. I’m sure she’ll be fine with kids of all ages.
She is a strikingly gorgeous dog! She has very glossy black coat without any spots. Her name means "brilliance, radiance, splendour". She is medium sized and the picture of health.

Sana will suit a gentle natured family that will be patient with her anxiety about being alone. She sleeps in our bedrooms on the floor and will not be locked in a room/cage/outside at night. She needs to be a part of your family. She will need many long walks and would also suit a runner/jogger.

Sana will give you unconditional love and when you look in her deep, brown eyes, she will melt your heart away and you’ll give in to her beauty.
