Puppy Pipey (On Trial 4/3/14)

Pipey is a teeny tiny, 8 month old, small breed puppy (Papillion x Chihuahua mix we think). He is very playful, as all puppies are and enjoys everything life has to offer. He has a great time on walks or playing fetch. When he's done, he loves curling up in your lap for a snooze. Pipey has the cutest ears that seem to have a mind of their own!

Pipey enjoys the company of other dogs but prefers smaller sized ones. He has met big breed dogs but seems to feel uncomfortable, probably due to being so small himself. He has a great time with my 2 small dogs, chasing them around the yard or sleeping next to them. Pipey is used to kids although as he is more suited to older ones. This is to keep him safe as he is small, but also because he is also going through the puppy biting stage so may hurt young children. With training he will learn not to nip.

Pipey has a short coat so is only going to require a bath every few weeks and a quick brush to keep his coat in great condition. He is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. In the cooler weather Pipey likes to wear coats to keep him warm and snug. He is still learning toileting and has a higher success rate if you go outside with him and praise him for doing his business outside. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.

Pipeys' ideal home will be where someone is able to be with him most of the time, as he is so young. He will need to be allowed inside. He will need to have another doggy friend to keep him company and help teach him doggy things. We recommend training classes.
