Champ (On Trial 12/1/14)

Champ is an extremely affectionate, 1 year old, male, Labrador x kelpie. He has the loving, loyal nature of the Lab with the energy and enthusiasm of the kelpie. Champ has a beautiful, soft black coat and golden brown eyes. He gets along well with and is friendly toward other dogs and enjoys meeting new people.

Champ has a habit of greeting you by jumping up and wrapping his paws around you in a loving hug. We are currently working on this so he only jumps up when asked to do so. His hugs are hard to resist! He is learning to sit and stay and will eagerly come when called. Champ walks well on a leash and loves to experience new sights and sounds.

Champ would be best suited to an active family, with a large yard, where he would have a companion to play with. He enjoys playing with toys and happily chases a thrown ball. He even returns it sometimes. He is still a young dog and will get into mischief if left alone for long periods. He will require ongoing training to allow him to achieve his true potential but is a very quick and willing learner. Champ would make an ideal family pet or be well suited to a younger person or couple who want a real friend to spend time with.

Champ’s favourite thing is playing with either his doggie or human family. Whenever I am in the yard he is right beside me helping or giving me a kiss. He loves to be patted and is well behaved indoors. Champ loves to curl up on the lounge next to you and watch TV and will make an excellent addition to your family.
