Charlie (On Trial 3/12/13)

Charlie, is a 6yo Mini Foxy - and an adorable one at that! He's in the prime of his life: past the silly puppy business but by no means a senior. He is healthy and active and oh so sweet and loving. Sometimes he gets so happy that he jumps and turns in circles or does laps up the hallway. He likes to play tug-of-war with my other dogs. But mostly he is quiet and calm. He knows how to enjoy the finer things in life such as good morning nap, a lunchtime nap, or an afternoon nap - basically any time is a good time for a little nap.

His favourite thing to do is enjoy cuddles on my husband's lap at night. He curls up next to him and they watch TV. It's all very cosy. Of course Charlie is house trained. He walks well on the lead, loves the car, doesn't dig holes, and doesn't howl when we go out.

Charlie likes the company of our older staffy but doesn't like the rough and tumble of young dogs very much. He has the heart of a lion and doesn't realise he's a small dog. He's never aggressive with other dogs, but would prefer our attentions all to himself. So he'd be fine as an only dog or with another laid-back dog. He prefers human company over that of other dogs.

Charlie has spent plenty of time around children. He is very patient with them. When he's had enough of their attentions he just sneaks away for a little rest.

Charlie's ideal home would be a relatively peaceful place, with either no children or with older children. Though he doesn't mind going outside, he is definitely an indoor dog and needs to be allowed inside to enjoy your company. He must sleep inside at night because he gets cold and lonely outside. Inside, you won't hear a peep out of him all night long. He will happily sleep on the end of your bed if you will let him but in his own bed is fine too. He really just want to be with you as much as he can. He will be a great addition to a caring home.
