About Shylah
Hi, my name is Shylah and I am a pretty red girl of 4 years of age.
I am house trained and sleep inside on my mat. I currently live with young children and there are plenty of birthday parties and they are so much fun. I especially love all the hugs I get as I am a big smooch.
The reason I need a new home is that I have taken a big liking to chasing chickens. My family let the chickens free range and when they are watching I sit quietly amongst the hens and even let them peck at my bone. But when my humans are not around its a different matter. I know its wrong but I can't resist. They run and what's a dog to do but run after them and when I play with them they don't seem to enjoy the game and after a while lie down and don't get up...sigh
So I think we better say right off. If you have a few chickens in your backyard then I'm definately not the dog for you.
I am absolutely fine around other dogs and currently live with two cats with no problem at all.
I went to puppy school and have been taught to obey commands like sit, on your mat, come, drop and stay and they also use the word "bah" instead of "no". I am well behaved in every way except for those darn chooks so please don't hold it against me as I'm told many dogs and cats do exactly the same thing to poultry if given the chance. They are pretty irresistible.
If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au and fill out an Adoption Request Form. Then ring Jan on 0408 515 111 after you have given her time to read it. Filling out an Adoption Request Form helps us match the dogs to the perfect family and having you on file fast tracks the process.
