About Rodger (On Trial 29/5/14)
Rodger is a handsome, 15 month old, Boxer x. He adores your attention and will sit by your side all day if he could. He is also fantastic with kids. He is very gentle and will give you soft kisses on your cheek if you’ll let him.
We have been giving him some basic training. He sits in the morning for his breakfast and takes it politely. He is housetrained and will let you know when it is time to open the door. He travels very well in the car too. He likes the beach and is very friendly with other dogs. He loves to go to the park and have a good run and comes back when his name is called. Rodger doesn’t pull on the lead either; he would rather stay close to you.
He has learnt to play with his foster sisters in the past few weeks as he didn't seem to know how to play when he first came to us. But now he will chase them around and play tug with the toy ropes. After a play he will happily lay in the sun chewing a bone.
Rodger requires a backyard with high fences (at least 170cm) as he has long jumping legs. He doesn’t require a lot of exercise but he will thrive in a home that can provide him some.
For more information or to meet Rodger please phone foster carer Kathy on 02-4938-8391. Rodger is in foster care near Tocal, NSW 2420 (45 minutes northwest of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Rodger's $300 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
