Roxie *On Trial in Her New Home*

*ROXIE IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES PLEASE* Foxie Roxie is a delightful cross between active and snuggly. If you want a lively companion who will “borrow” your shoes, run like a flash, but then tuck her little head under your chin for a cuddle and to say “sorry”, you're on a winner with this adorable pup!! And the best part is your shoes will still be intact :)

Recently rescued from our local pound pretty pup Roxie has the softest fur (you just want to cuddle her forever!) and a soft loving nature to go with it. She’s a happy, healthy, friendly pup who loves playing, eating, sleeping and enjoying life. Our vets have gone with Terrier x as Roxie’s breed though we wouldn’t be at all surprised if she has some Pomeranian in her as well as some Jack Russell.

From her foster carer:
Little Miss Roxie really is a sweet girl that likes to be with people, snuggle or cuddle on your lap or share the recliner if she's allowed to. She is great when we have visitors and loves older children - I am yet to expose her to youngsters, so I might have to borrow some! Roxie has just discovered our German Shepherds (Tasha (11yrs) & Xena (9mths old) only want to sniff and get to know her and are not a threat to her at all – we’ve been keeping Roxie separate from our girls while she settled in and got over a bout of Kennel Cough. At their first proper meeting Xena actually sat down low enough to get down to Roxie's height. - it was a beautiful experience to see all three girls sniffing and giving 'kisses', tails wagging and since then Roxie and Xena have been enjoying their playtime together running around in our big backyard.

I think Roxie has had some training, either that or she’s just really smart! She can fetch (although she doesn’t always return the toy), responds to “sit” most of the time and if she jumps on the couch and we tell her to get down she does. When she is told it’s bedtime she gets into her bed and curls up ready to sleep. Roxie has definitely lived with a cat or a kitten in her previous life as she and Bentley our young cat are always playing and trying to eat each other’s food! We took her to Petstock for her first bath though she didn't like the scary noises coming from the dog wash and wanted out, so I got just as wet as she did!! I think bathing in the laundry tub will be the way to go from now on :)

As Roxie’s only a young pup she will require ongoing obedience training as well as socialisation with other dogs so she grows up to have lovely manners. Daily walks or runs around the backyard, secure fencing, chicken necks to chew on and toys to play with will make little Roxie very happy indeed! As she’s doing really well with her house training and sleeps inside at night she would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a playful dog or cat or on her own though preferably not in a home where she’d be left in a yard for 8 hours on weekdays as she is used to having company
