About Clyde
Bonnie and Clyde are two of the loveliest dogs you will ever come across, they have amazing personalities, they are approachable, friendly, always smiling and are superbly intelligent. These dogs are beautiful to look at, are a great medium size, both weighing in at under 25kg. After having these guys at the shelter for quite some time, we got to know a lot more about them. Bonnie is most certainly the brains of the operation, she loves to sit back and watch Clyde (the brawns) do all the work in their escape attempts. These two dogs make great companions, it is impossible not to love them as all our staff and volunteers have been swept away by their charm and intellect, but it seems they’re too smart for their own good. Bonnie & Clyde really do live up to their name, except the criminal activity, these two are professional escape artists. Before you keep scrolling and dismiss them completely, please understand that these dogs are Kelpie crosses, they are working dogs and it is essential for them to have enough exercise and stimulation in their lives. Working dogs are classed as working dogs because they love to have a job, they love to have meaning in their lives and they live for their masters. We feel Bonnie and Clyde require owners who either work from home, are able to take both dogs to work with them on a daily basis, or who live on a farm or property where the dogs can run free, or do work the whole day. Bonnie and Clyde are content and happy when they’re with their owners, but we’re unable to understand their compulsion with escaping when they’re left alone. We’re unsure whether they have separation anxiety and are getting out to find their owners, or whether they simply enjoy the end result of getting out of their confines and running free. If you feel your lifestyle is suited to these two marvellous animals, please come down and see them, or contact us.
