About George T
Meet the loving and loyal George. To this fantastic little guy, nothing is more important than family. A truly faithful companion, George likes to keep a close eye on his family both inside and outside the home. When around the house, he likes to be in whatever room you are in or at least able to see you. A sensitive dog, he can get a bit nervous if he is shut out of whatever room you are in, not understanding why you wouldn’t want to be with him.
George thrives on physical contact and loves nothing more than to curl up with you on the couch and loves to be rewarded for a job well done with lots of pats and kisses. This certainly doesn’t mean George doesn’t like treats! He is very food motivated and a quick learner. So far with his foster family George has learned sit, beg, lie down, roll over, stay, leave it, and come.
His faithfulness ensures that he is good off lead but is also a treat to walk on the lead.
Passersby can’t help but smile at this joyful little dog out for his walk with a little hop in his step. He enjoys ambling along, taking in all the sights, smells and sounds. George is good socialising with dogs his own size, tending to put on a tough guy act for bigger dogs. However, if like his foster sister a Great Dane x the dog proves to be gentle he’s ok with a quick sniff. A shy boy, George doesn’t tend to play with dogs he does not know but in the safety of his back yard or if there are not a lot of other dogs around, George loves to run and play with his foster sister. He likes getting her to go with him to chase birds or run circles around his foster mum.
When George first came to his foster home, he was a bit nervous about being left on his own. But since adding a longer daily walk and the company of his foster sister, he seems much better about the family being out. He is well behaved enough to be left with open run of the house while his family is away.
George is not a destructive dog and doesn’t even chew on dog toys let alone the furniture. A lot of the time, his foster family like to take him with them when out and about. He is fabulous in the car and on the train, tending to sleep on short and long journeys alike. George is content to sit with you at the café or to call in at a friend’s house. As long as he is with you, he is pleased to go on whatever journey comes his way.
George is a flexible and patient dog. He can jump right out of bed if you need to be out early but is just as happy (probably more) to snuggle in bed while you wake up slowly and will wait patiently if you prefer to have a leisurely weekend breakfast before the walk. He is also the perfect companion to an afternoon nap!
So if you are looking for a faithful companion to include in your life, then look no further. Nothing is more rewarding than this fun little guy looking up at you lovingly with his gorgeous brown eyes. George needs to go to a home where someone is around most of the time and he can spend his days with another doggy playmate.
George is located in Melbourne.
Medical notes
George is 9.9kg (overweight)
