About Loki (adopted 2/10/13)
Loki is an enthusiastic, adventurous and friendly 10 month old, Kelpie cross. He has a beautiful nature and gets along with other dogs, older children and everyone he meets. His favourite thing to do is go on walks, if he has the opportunity to explore and sniff then sign him up, it's a big exciting world and he wants to learn all about it. If you throw a stick or ball for him to fetch he will look at you like "why did you do that" preferring not to play repetitive games.
Like rarely barks and if he does it is because something is happening in the yard or right in the boundary of the property.
When Loki is left at home he is happy to be entertained by his foster brother as they playfully rumble but he is also eager to follow his human foster family if given any opportunity - if it means a chance to explore, explore, explore, Loki is there.
Kelpie's are active dogs so Loki would best suit an active family, couple or individual who has plenty of time and love to share and is willing to take him for long walks or runs and with a fully secure yard.
Loki responds well to positive reinforcement training with treat rewards. We are currently working on "sit", waiting for food, coming when he is called and walking on the lead. He is toilet trained and happily sleeps in the laundry on his bed and doesn't make a sound as he is content to snuggle into the blankets. When coming inside and the excitement has calmed down, he will rest on his bed, or sit on the couch if allowed, especially in your lap or any part of your body he can place himself.
Loki has a beautiful nature and will make a delightful addition to a loving home that can spend some time with him. He is eager to learn and ready to share the love.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
