About Asher
Asher came to us in unlikely circumstances. He came from the pound and was designated to be put to sleep. Nobody could touch him.
I had taken to protecting myself from photos of pound intakes but Lesley Inkson of Purrfect Match started pleading with me to take him on for taming purposes to save his life.
I objected. She pleaded. I saw his photo and was struck by his eye contact. Jo Lyons, a volunteer photographer had captured something unique. \ And the pleas started to flood in, people wanted him saved, his poor waif like face with trap injuries had won so many hearts. The begging wore me down.
\ I put up a two week window to start the taming process and said after that he would have to move on to Purrfect Match HQ.
Asher was sent to the pound veterinary surgery in a crush cage to be microchipped and desexed. We picked him up late in the afternoon and the vetnurse asked us if we knew we were getting a 'very cranky cat.'
Yes, we did.
Within three hours of arriving home, this little boy was smooching to the bars of his crate and making overtures to my husband. Nobody could believe it, least of all ourselves. \ It appeared that Asher had been so terrified by being trapped and being in the pound that his actions were purely defensive.
Little Asher has not looked back since the day he came here. He loves people, he loves other cats, he's a turbo boy, constantly playing, wrestling, jumping, rumbling.
\ He loves people, he likes dogs, he's a blessing and he needed a name to go with it. Asher means 'happy, blessed'.
What kind of home would suit Asher? what kind of family?
We are quite sure that a busy family with children and other friendly and active cats would suit him down to the ground.
\
