About Benny (temp hold poss adoption) ~ Labradoodle
Benny is a fun loving, energetic, 3.5yo, Labrador x Poodle "Labradoodle". He is very friendly and affectionate. He will give you a lick on the hand or a paw in the lap to ask for another pat if you stop. Benny still plays like a puppy most of the time. He loves his tennis ball and enjoys when his foster family plays fetch with him in the backyard. Benny also loves water, look out when you are watering the garden because Benny loves to get wet by the hose.
Benny knows some basic commands such as sit, come, shake hands and get the ball. He walks well with his Halti leash. Benny would benefit from continued training such as training classes.
Benny likes to be inside with us when we are home but is also happy to be outside when we go out. He may bark when no one is home but calms down and is improving. At night he likes to sleep at the end of the bed, on the lounge or beside our bed on a dog bed. Benny will check on everyone in the house before he settles for the night. He just really loves nothing more than contact with his family so he will need to be an indoor dog.
Benny loves kids of all ages and is quite careful of little ones. He is also good with dogs, preferring either a puppy or a smaller dog to play with. Not sure how Benny is with cats but we have encountered them on our walks and he is more curious of them than anything.
Benny has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.
Benny is looking for a loving family that will take him on daily walks, allow him inside, and where he will have either people or another dog to play, and yard to run around in.
For more information or to meet Benny please phone Kim on 0425 353 662 . Benny is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW. His $450 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
