About George (On Trial 31/8/13)
George is a 4 yo, male Puggle (Pug x beagle). He is a happy 'designer dog' who enjoys company and walks well on the lead. Affectionately referred to as a 'pug on steroids', George is not a small dog, weighing in at around 20kgs. He has grown up around kids but would not be suitable with small children as he could easily knock them over in excitement. He gets on well with other dogs.
George has a short low maintenance coat but does need a regular brush to remove loose hair. He knows how to sit and would enjoy some further obedience training. He is an active chap who would love a daily walk or ball game and a warm place to sleep at night. He has a lovely deep bark to notify you of strangers entering the yard, but always greets new people with a wagging tail. George needs to be allowed inside for some time inside each day to enjoy being with his people.
Pugs are sensitive to the heat so they need a cool place to rest during hot summer days, preferably indoors, and they should avoid long, vigorous exercise.
If you can offer George a suitable home, please contact his foster carer Kate on 0401 856 140 outside business hours. George is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
George's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
