About Puss Puss
Puss Puss was rescued by one of our wonderful foster carers. She is a very lucky girl, whose future was not looking good until her guardian angel stepped in to ensure Puss Puss was safe and loved. This is her story from her rescuer and carer:
Puss Puss found herself dumped at a Strawberry Farm at a very young age. She was a tiny kitten when first spotted. She had found refuge with the chickens who lived near by and kept with them throughout winter. As Puss Puss got bigger & braver she slowly came closer & closer to an old house up on the hill begging for food scraps & soon began sleeping under the house. The occupants of the house happily threw scraps to Puss Puss for months, but made no attempt to catch her. Then one day Puss Puss came out from under the house with kittens and still the house occupants made no attempt to catch Puss Puss or her babies. The occupants then moved out, leaving Puss Puss to fend for herself & her kittens.
A few weeks had past & i was notified about a cat starving under the house at the Strawberry farm i went there on a few occasions searching for this cat & her kittens, finally she was found under some bush's with her babies! All 4 kittens, who were now independent of mum, were collected & taken to the Animal Aid but Puss Puss was so frightened she ran off.
I attended the house with food weekly & noticed the food i left out was getting eaten :-) One afternoon i finally spotted her after hearing her cries under the house, she was 1 seriously skinny cat!! I continued to feed her & gain trust in her over a period of weeks till finally i managed to catch her & bring her home with me.
Weeks past & Puss Puss slowly began to come out of her shell & put on weight, she was loving the abundance of food. Puss Puss has been living with me & 2 other cats for 6 months now & gets along fine with the other cats although she does like to antagonize them for her own entertainment at times!
Puss Puss love's a pat especially while i'm laying on my bed with her she also has a habit of following me into the toilet craving affection! Puss Puss is roughly 1-2 years old & still enjoys playing & running laps of the house. Puss Puss has come along way & is gaining more trust in humans as time goes by, she still gets scared at times especially with quick movements or unfamiliar sounds.
Puss Puss will be best suited to an adult only, indoor only home where she will be given the time and support she needs to feel safe and secure. She would love a confident kitty playmate, but would also be happy as an only cat. She is untested with dogs, though would probably be ok with a calm dog that would leave her alone. What Puss Puss needs most is love, affection and understanding.
Puss Puss doesn't like to be picked up but will happily sit on your lap or next to you, she really just needs a patient home that will give her the time she needs to feel safe and secure.
Puss Puss is in care in Croydon.
